Increasing Clarity

Romiromi is a holistic practice, focused on working safely in your Whatumanawa/Heart (the spiritual dimension which connects and balances your physical well-being). Romiromi is a combination of pressure-point stimulation and deep-tissue massage, which works on releasing and removing harmful toxins that have built up in your body. Romiromi is translated to Ro - internal / Mi - to stimulate. We stimulate and agitate to help the body re-order itself.

Our Romiromi treatment also uses discussion to unveil negative patterns, beliefs, traumas, painful memories, and unresolved grief that are residing deep in the cellular memory of the body. The practice uses Pounamu (greenstone), Rakau (wood), and Wai (water) to act as conduits to assist in your healing. Generations of practising this treatment have shown us how important it is to share a positive bond between your body, mind, and spirit.

Aotea Traditional Massage provides conventional and traditional Maori massage therapy in a peaceful and calm setting. We partner with other medical professionals to offer short and long-term care for you and your whanau.
